Review of Man Mission
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel describes fifteen adventures taken within fifteen years by four Australian men. Sam, Alec, Daniel, and the narrator have been friends since college and decided to remain friends and go for an adventure in any place they chose each year. They went on an adventure on the coast of Victoria. Daniel found a pink bracelet left by his daughter. The team decided to retain the pink bracelet, and they would use it for the person who whines the loudest. In that year, the narrator's wife, Racheal, gave birth to twins. For each adventure, they used a transport means that suited the place, such as bikes, kayaking, and walking. During the adventures, they would sleep in tents, farmhouses, and motels. They hiked in New Zealand, where they had different encounters, such as drug dealers and a herd of cows. They visited different places, such as Andalusia, Spain; Yasawa Islands, Fiji; and Machu Picchu, Peru.
I liked the quotes the author provided at the beginning of each chapter, for example, "no man is unhappier than he who never faces adversity, for he is not permitted to prove himself." He also provided a Bible verse at the beginning of the chapter after the quote. The quotes and the Bible verses were educative since they provided some information the reader may find inspirational. The adventures were enjoyable to read, given the author's description of various places that the Australians went. He ensured the author enjoyed them by providing maps at the beginning of the adventure. So that the reader may reflect on the adventures, the author summarized each adventure at the end of each chapter. Finally, I liked the description of the personal lives of the four men. It shows the reader how they can balance fun, career, and family life.
I did not find any flaws in the book. Reading each chapter was like going on an adventure with the four Australians. I could enjoy the adventures, just like they did.
I rate Man Mission by Eytan Uliel five out of five stars. The book was professionally edited because there was an error. The book was a combination of different adventures that the Australians enjoyed each differently. I liked reading about the fun they had during the adventures, and the author ensured readers would capture it by adding some motivating factors such as maps and great descriptions. These aspects are worth a perfect rating, and I couldn't deduct a star even with the error.
I recommend this book to people who love adventures. The book involved fifteen adventures in different countries. People who love adventures would love the book and enjoy the adventures.
