I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for....

I'm into books that are, in a way, apocalyptic. Let me explain.

I like books that are in ways similar to, Resident Evil, War of the Worlds, Dawn of the Dead, etc.

Books where entire populations are in danger [be it anywhere from a city, to a country, to the entire world], and there is either one person or a small group of people to fend for themselves and/or maybe look for other survivors.

Resident Evil is like this in an obvious way. Someone drops a chemical thing that breaks and starts a pandemic of a disease that causes people to become flesh eating zombies. [or something like that]

I love books with this type of feel but I've done several searches and have come back empty handed.

All help appreciated!

Thanks!

-Chad

I've heard good things about a book called World War Z. Sounds like it would be right up your alley.

Infected by Scott Sigler would be a recommendation.

Thanks, Tanya, Wisnoodles, and Jtothero!!

I'm definately going to check those out!

World War Z does sound like it'd be right up my alley!
Infected does as well!

I've heard of The Host before, but I'm going to look into it now.

Any more suggestions greatly appreciated!

Also a short story in the night shift called Night Surf. Great story that goes with the same plot as the stand.

If you can find it Frank Herbert's The White Plague fits your description, except instead of a population it's women all over the world that are in danger.
