Your review is compelling. Bloody killings, crime, and violence are normal happenings in the book. JT was involved in a lot of these scenarios. The Gibboons crime case was a bit long as part of JT's overall story, sometimes, with this, the main character was lost in the place. I'm intrigued if Theo will be found or not. And whoever the first to solve the case-- Orin or Chip.
