Would you like to travel to New Zealand, Thailand, or Japan? Would you like to understand how to balance family and adventure? This book, Man Mission by Etyan Uliel, is the best for you. The main characters in the book are Sam, Etyan, Daniel, and Alec. They love adventure. They embark on yearly adventures for 15 years. Etyan and Sam became friends after Sam accompanied him to a food fair in college. During the fair, Etyan told Sam about his love for adventure and his dream to explore the world. Ethan realized that they shared similar tastes in food. Daniel and Alec joined the two as associate members. They made rules to govern their Man Missions. They went biking in Japan, river kayaking in Australia, exploring South African national parks, and chasing northern lights in Iceland. Each time they came on a trip, they gained a new perspective on life.

The book has a lot of twists and turns. The friendship between the four main characters is very impressive. I discovered many new things from the book. I also learned about various locations I would like to visit. I love the way the author brought stories about the personal lives of the characters in the book. He did not allow the stories to affect the flow of the book. The author was a bit naive. He only knew that life was all about going to school, getting a job, getting married, and taking good care of kids in marriage. He knew that a man should not cry or share his feelings. He feared failure and what people would think of him. He mentions that he has to be strong for Rachel and the kids. Was he right in all of these? One can build a picture of the adventures of the four friends because of the author's detailed descriptions. It captures the beautiful landscapes in the places explored by the characters.

I like the character development in the book. Ethan is torn between family and career responsibilities and his love for adventure. I like the book's sense of humor. It has a lot of profanity, but I think it's their everyday language. The book also mentions the challenges undergone by the characters as they developed into adulthood. I loved the way the characters maintained their friendship despite the difficulties they experienced.

I would like to hear Rachel's part of the story. It was not quite easy to raise the kids while the husband was busy bike racing with his friends. The loneliness she went through as her husband adventured must have been unbearable.

I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. It has been excellently edited. I found no grammatical errors or typos in it. I recommend it to anyone who likes adventure. Anyone who enjoys a well-told story can also read it. One who wants to understand how men's strong ties work can enjoy it. The themes addressed in the book are friendship, marriage, love, adventure, and growth. It is inspiring.

Reading about the many places these four men visited was intriguing. I laughed with them, wowed with them, worried with them, and learned a lot from their experience. Indeed, this book says a lot about friendship. Interesting review.
