Review of Man Mission
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is one of the most graphic and reminiscent books I’ve read in a long time. This book is both fictional and a travelogue, two combinations that most authors wouldn’t quite be able to mix, but Eytan Uliel put his whole heart into this book and, by so doing, gave us a wonderful masterpiece with an interesting storyline. This fictional book could make you misquote it as a memoir because the author was able to carry us along as if it were someone’s reality.
Every year for fifteen years, four friends Eytan, Daniel, Sam, and Alec in their late twenties decide to go on mind blowing adventures filled with fun and activities. They did this to escape reality and explore the world for the purpose of self-discovery. They traveled, gaining knowledge about a lot of different things. They tried out new foods as well as new activities.
This book kicks us off by introducing us to two law school friends who remained close buddies even after graduation: Eytan and Sam. Along the way, they decided to go on short trips, but due to their inexperience and lack of resources, they were a disaster. Then somewhere along the line came Daniel and Alec. The quads took us on adventures, letting us see life from their point of view. The Australian men took us on tours to South Africa, where they came face-to-face with a roaring lion; they had encounters with drug dealers in New Zealand; they also journeyed parts of Europe and their home country in Australia, and I must say, they had the best experiences ever.
Life moves fast, and the group of friends is struck by different angles of life. They have different things to worry about now, which include aspects of their jobs, their marriages, and so on. They soon realized that the man mission was a means of escape to help them escape their reality and live some moment in time. Would things work out fine for our protagonists? I really enjoyed myself reading this book. At so many points, I could picture myself living every moment listed in this book, and it gave me a feeling of ecstasy. I like how the four friends are so close and likewise have a nice relationship. This book teaches on the benefit and values of friendship, and I can only hope lots of other readers are able to learn one or more things from it. I as well like the characters of this book: four men who just wanted to have fun with each other while going on adventures; that alone helps to break down the tension of toxic masculinity.
I have nothing to dislike concerning this book. The author helped us understand the concept of growing up and the perks of a healthy friendship. I also want to point out that this book was easy for me to understand because I came across no errors; Eytan Uliel did a fantastic job.
I rate Man Mission 5 out of 5 stars. It’s just that kind of perfect book that you want to read over and over again. I commend the author’s writing style and good grammatical accuracy; it was so on point.
I recommend this book to anyone who has trouble expressing their feelings and is yet to find their identity. I would also suggest that anyone who’s interested in adventure and comedy novels shouldn’t let this book pass them by. It has lots of fun moments.
