Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is a captivating story that starts around two friends, the narrator and his friend Sam, who bond over their love for food and their shared desire to explore the world and have exhilarating adventures. During their conversation, the narrator expresses his desire to travel the world and experience new cuisines. Sam is intrigued by his dream and offers to join him on his journey. After an impromptu phone call, the narrative takes the reader on a journey through their lives, detailing the ups and downs of their annual mission to challenge their physical abilities and search for their true selves. The mission was simple yet challenging: to explore the world, engage in strenuous physical activities like hiking, kayaking, and biking, and search for their true selves. Despite objections from their wives, the friends group embarks on their journey, pushing themselves physically and emotionally with each passing year. Over time, their mission becomes a way of life, and they continue to travel around the world, facing obstacles, injuries, and life struggles, all while laughing and crying together.

The strength of the story lies in its portrayal of friendship and personal growth. The male friendship deepen over time as they share their struggles, support each other, and have the time of their lives. They learn to push themselves to their limits, overcome obstacles, and embrace new experiences. The narrative highlights the transformative power of travel and adventure, showing how they can help us find our true selves beyond the expectations of others. Their mission inspires readers to embrace adventure, seek new experiences, and never stop exploring.

I loved reading this book. The story sheds light on the importance of challenging ourselves and stepping out of our comfort zones. This story is a heartwarming tale that celebrates the power of friendship, love, adventure, and growth. It encourages readers to embrace life's challenges, step out of their comfort zones, and never stop exploring. The characterization of the wives was also done beautifully, which made their interactions with the men amusing to read.

There are some things I disliked about this book. As a meticulous adventurer myself, it was both interesting and frustrating to read the reckless planning of the men in the initial chapters. I felt like the only reason the men didn’t end up getting seriously injured or lost was because of their plot armor.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Furthermore, I would recommend this book to anyone looking to embark on a journey of personal growth and self-discovery. However, it may not be appropriate for a younger audience as it has some profanities.
