Have you ever grown up without a parent? Do you know what it feels like? Many children are fortunate enough to have both parents. The Bitter-Sweet Search for a Father, by Patrick A. Davy, is a realistic and brilliant novel that explains the deep and hidden emotions and secrets behind the life of Pete Mitchell.

Pete Mitchell has grown up without his father since a very young age. He makes a pledge that he will find his father, come what may. He becomes successful in life, marries the love of his life, and shares an amazing bond with his two sons. Pete seeks help from his Aunty Bertha, who helped raise Pete along with his grandmother, and his cousin Nigel. On this journey of searching for his father, Pete goes through many unexpected challenges, hurdles, and trials. Despite all the hardships, will Pete finally find his father? Does his father have another family? Read the book and follow Pete's journey to learn more.

Patrick A. Davy has written an intriguing, heartfelt, and genuine novel. The protagonist, Pete Mitchell, is so driven by his goal to find his father, which makes him determined and makes the book more captivating and brilliant. Pete is one of the best characters in the book; he is brave, loyal, and proactive. This book also shows the amazing and loving bond that Pete shares with his wife and children. He aims to give his two sons all that his father never gave him. This book shows how important it is for a growing child to have both parents' love, comfort, and support. It teaches us good moral lessons in our daily lives: to have goals, to hope for something if we really want it, and the importance of patience.

The way the author writes and structures this book is amazing. The styles, wording, and scenes are outstanding and make the reader so engrossed in this book. I absolutely love this book and rate it five out of five stars. There isn't any negative aspect in this book for people to not like it. This book has no errors and has been professionally edited. The layout, paging, and set-up are excellent.

I recommend this book for teenagers above the age of fifteen and adults, as well as to those who have lost people in their lives or are searching for someone. It is a great book to help us understand what most people go through when they don't have either of their parents in their lives and the struggles they face.
