Review of Man Mission
[Following is a volunteer review of "Man Mission" by Eytan Uliel.]
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is a gripping tale that revolves around a group of four friends embarking on annual vacations to peculiar destinations. The narrative shines a spotlight on their thrilling exploits, camaraderie, romantic relationships, personal development, and the challenges they face while making critical choices.
The novel is aptly titled as it chronicles the annual expeditions of four 20-something friends who set out to explore new and unconventional places. The book begins with the protagonist sharing his vision with a newfound acquaintance named Sam during their time at university. Although Sam initially expresses interest in the idea, he later loses enthusiasm due to his work responsibilities until he receives a call from Sam. The narrative then follows the protagonist and Sam on their journey to New Zealand, where they face minor setbacks such as injuries and an encounter with drug dealers, before being joined by Alec and Daniel. Together, they embark on a thrilling adventure that tests their mettle. As the friends mature and assume more serious responsibilities, their annual excursions transform into much more than just carefree escapades. The story deftly captures the challenges and growth experienced by the characters as they navigate the complexities of adulthood.
The author's remarkable consistency in narrating the entire book from a single person's perspective left a lasting impression on me. It seemed as though the author was recounting their personal travel experiences, which made the story more compelling. I particularly enjoyed the author's wit and clever use of language, which effectively conveyed the characters' enthusiasm and emotions throughout the book. The characters were intriguing and relatable, which made it easy to become invested in their journey. Moreover, the author's use of quotes, Bible verses, notes, and maps at the beginning of each paragraph heightened the reader's imagination and made the events in the book more vivid. This book has the potential to be adapted into a captivating movie.
There isn't a single aspect of this book that I didn't appreciate. From start to finish, it kept me engrossed and eager to turn each page. Moreover, the book provides a wealth of useful travel tips that readers can follow on their trips. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves adventurous novels or is passionate about travel. It is a must-read for those seeking thrilling escapades or looking to explore new destinations.
