Boundaries Within: Book One by Holly A. Kellison is the story of Tess, a female assassin who finds herself hiding and running for her life because of the hatred and jealousy of her twin sister, Taryn. When Tess was sixteen, her mum and stepfather were murdered. Following this sad incident, a man named Jonathan McGowan gives Tess and her siblings a fresh start in their lives as he takes them in.

Eventually, Tess meets Jonathan's son, Colin, and they become very good friends and get very close. After Tess decides to separate from Colin, she somehow runs into Mathew Taylor. This really interesting connection proves that even though the world is so big, with over seven billion people that this world is still a small place where a person can easily be identified. Things take an interesting turn when Tess falls in love with Mathew, and a high price is put on her head.

This book has so many positive aspects, and I salute the author's amazing writing style, which was capped off by the use of simple and comprehensive English. Authors often forget that what makes fiction beautiful is its simplicity which will help the reader to understand faster without having to check the dictionary many times.

This book produced so many thought-provoking themes like selfishness, forgiveness, family, imperfection, perspective, jealousy, love, and infidelity. The theme of infidelity is espoused in the strange relationship-turned-marriage of Tess and Conor and how they still love other people even though they love each other. After reading this book, one begins to wonder whether infidelity is supposed to negate love. The theme of family is seen in Jonathan and how he took in Tess and her sisters and protected them as though they were family. We see the theme of jealousy and hatred in Taryn, the twin sister of Tess, who, despite their connections, still wants her dead.

The book had no negative aspects at all. Therefore, I will happily rate this work five out of five stars, as it is what I would classify as a good fictional novel. If you are a lover of thrillers and fast-paced novels, you will certainly enjoy this book. The book is filled with a lot of unconventional situations and will keep you glued to the end.

Characters were interwoven, making the book more engaging to read. There are a lot of interesting themes in this book, therefore, readers will learn a lot from it. The strange relationship between Conor and Tess would be something confusing, why do they still love other people and love each other? Does it romantic love? Your review is intriguing and excellently written, Chinemezu!
