Review of The Capricious Nature of Being
The Capricious Nature of Being by Richard Plinke is a captivating book that encompasses a collection of diverse stories, each one portraying the unpredictability of life. The book begins with a compelling short story centered around a woman named Hope. Having graduated from college with a degree in English literature, she secures a position as a senior editor, finding solace in her job. Hope encounters a dilemma when confronted with the decision of whether or not to unlock an old safe that belonged to her father. This safe holds not only crucial documents and files essential for settling her father's estate but also conceals the secrets of his past. Hal, a trusted confidant, reveals to Hope that her father had certain things he wished to remain hidden, things she might not be prepared to confront. Nevertheless, she decides to seek the assistance of a locksmith, who assures her that opening the safe is indeed possible. Did she open the safe successfully? Get the book to learn more.
Plinke's ability to immerse readers in Hope's internal struggle and other captivating stories in the book is commendable. Through vivid descriptions and poignant introspection, the author allows us to feel as if we are present in the scenes. I was completely drawn in as I read through this book. It is a book that will inspire everyone to cherish and appreciate the time they spend with their loved ones and also try to put smiles on people's faces.
My favorite character in this book is Hope because of the sacrifices she made in leaving her own career to care for her father. Her story adds depth and authenticity to the character, making her relatable to readers who may have faced similar crossroads in their own lives. Another character I love in this book is the old man. He was always intentional about putting smiles on the faces of people he carries in his car, and he makes them see the positive aspects of life no matter how worse the situation they go through may look like. He never gives up until he helps lift the weight off the person's shoulder and ensures there is a smile on their face.
There is nothing I dislike about this book. I learned a lot, one of which is how to care for humanity no matter the challenges. It was all captivating. I thank the author for his creative prowess. I would like to express my gratitude to the editor for their outstanding work on the book. It has been expertly edited, and I could not find any errors within it.
I rate this book five out of five stars because it taught me about the unpredictability of life in various ways. I recommend this book to everyone, especially those who are faced with challenges in life. They will find it helpful.
