Review of Man Mission
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is a fascinating yet soothing story of four friends living their life and experiencing everything life has to offer. The boys always dreamt of having a boy's trip with many adventurous activities in their young adulthood, which begins after Charlie and Sam graduate from law school. The Man Mission which they decide to call their trips as starts with a trip to New Zealand with only Charlie and Sam. Daniel joins them after two more trips and later the last member of the group Alec joins them on the trips. They enjoy many adventurous activities on their trips like cycling, kayaking, and many more. The story also shows their personal lives which can be seen as going back to reality after their missions. They face many work and family-related challenges.
This book was a very adventurous one. Their missions kept me entertained always. I always looked forward to reading about different cultures and foods and about people of the countries they traveled to. The author’s writing style is worth applauding, switching from a mood of adventure and away from reality experience to serious life responsibilities and sensitive mood was very impressive. The character development of all the characters is also very nice. The conversation between the friends which had some seriousness as well as humor felt very realistic and very relatable. The idea of having a break for a short period away from stressful reality was the reason I enjoyed this book very much.
The book also talks about their love lives, their wives, and their becoming fathers. These parts of the story were what gave the book a realistic feel. The part of the book where they disclose the news of their becoming fathers to each other was very beautiful. From this book, we get to know about the masculine point of view of life which was very adventurous and childish at times and very responsible and very serious at other times.
There was nothing in this book that I found not likable. There were some quotes before the beginning of new chapters that I found were not necessary to put in the book as they didn’t feel anyhow related to the story but it didn’t bother me that much. The book is professionally edited and I give this book five out of five stars.
I would recommend this book to people who love to read about adventures and who enjoy learning about the different cultures of different countries. As this book contains some profanity words and some sexual words, it is not appropriate for children.
