Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is a tale of personal engagement fiction that revolves around an adventure of four men; Sam, Alec, Daniel and the author. They travel once a year for fifteen years, spending mostly a week before their return. Some of the countries that they went on adventure are New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. In that period they participated in activities like cycling, kayaking and hiking. The decision to travel was an idea that both Sam and the author had discussed during their college days. Some years after graduating from law school, the author receives a phone call from Sam telling him to travel with him. This information by Sam to the author appeared as a shock because he had already forgotten the idea of travelling. In addition to that, the author was trying to adapt to the new life, exercising his law duties and working in a firm. He tries to decline this perplexing journey, but Sam reminds him what they had talked about before until he accepts. Their first travel in their fifteen-year epic journey was to New Zealand. The author tells that in their first journey both Alec and Daniel declined to travel because of their specific reasons. The author and Sam face a difficult moment in New Zealand as neither of them knows hiking or camping.

Their newly acquired culture of travelling takes a new shape as the young men get married and start having children. They have to convince their wives to be permitted to travel. They have to balance the attention they give to their families and their commitment to friendship. Sometimes their wives keep reminding them, that they are no longer young lads as they were on campus, they have to know they are parents. This book gives us a reflection of true friendship; these four men are there for one another. An example is when the author housed Alec when he became broke.

These young men do not know what a real man looks like. They choose to live and appreciate each other despite their levels of success. I loved the way they eat almost all types of food they come across in foreign countries even if they do not know the source of the food. They are just happy almost all the time they are together unless when they come to an argument. The arguments between them on most occasions do not last, it ceases very fast and that is how friends should be.

Some of the sceneries of the places these young men passed through and the people they meet bring exhilarating experiences when going through the book. Like the man in the temple in Japan, he tells them that Japanese men do know how to communicate with women, they learn a few stories about Japan through this man at the temple. The author is an expert in describing the appearance of the environment they go to. I recommend this book to mature boys who are determined to become real men.

This book is amazing, it reveals how men in the society exist and how they feel. It also reveals how men go through tough decisions when deciding to do what they love and those activities they do because they are responsibilities. The editing of the book was exceptional, I will rate Man Mission 5 out of 5 stars because there were no errors and the book was interesting.
