Review of McDowell
McDowell is an inspiring fictional book written by William H. Coles. The focus of the story is on Dr. Hiram, a surgeon who had difficulties balancing his family life with his work life as a result of his lifestyle. He was an avid lover of adventures. He loved climbing mountains. He, therefore, ventured into climbing high mountains located In Nepal after the death of someone very close to him. His two daughters, son, and third wife felt unloved at home; hence, they were agitated because they weren't getting attention from him. Do you think that it was a result of infidelity on his part? Or was it because of the nature of his work? Going further, Dr. Hiram, an active member of the International College of Surgeons, aspires to become the president of the organization to bring positive change to the system. He meets Michael and some of his friends, who are also members of the organization, for their support. He finally wins, but do you think he fulfilled his promises as president? You can only find out after reading this book. So, get it.
This book made me realize that character should be built and sustained. Dr. Hiram had his life well planned out, and things were also going well for him until his character made his life less stable. He was a successful surgeon who aimed to attain the peak of his profession, but did his character pave the way for him to achieve his goal? This book details the truth. I was fascinated with how Dr. Hiram's family was described because it made it easier for me to relate to his character and why some events unfolded in his life. There were so many twists and suspense in the story, and this increased my enjoyment of it. Going further, I realized from this book that it's better to make promises that we can fulfill rather than ones that we wouldn't be able to actualize. Dr. Hiram promised his friends and colleagues a lot of things if he eventually became president. Did he fulfill them? Read this book to find out.
I loved how the writer used simple terms to write the story. This is because it would have been difficult for me to connect with the story had it been It was written with complex English words. Therefore, I commend the writer for his use of words. I also love how the details of the election that Dr. Hiram took part in were described. It made me understand the necessity of credibility in an election.
I disliked nothing in this book. It had motivating, enlightening, and eye-opening content. It taught me to always push forward, even when hurdles try to prevent me from being happy and fulfilled in life. It was also exceptionally edited, taking into consideration that no errors were discovered. I'm therefore giving it a rating of five out of five stars.
This book will be best suited for lovers of inspiring fictional stories, political enthusiasts, mountain climbers or people who want to venture into it in the future, and medical practitioners because they will find its content very desirable. So, I recommend it specifically to them.
