McDowell is a fictional book that comes with different feelings and emotions as it shows the effects of betrayal, lack of Integrity, bad parenting, and other vices. It narrates the life experiences of Hiram McDowell, who is a popular surgeon and also a family man. The author, William H. Coles, focuses on McDowell, the skilled mountain climber.

The main character Hiram McDowell got married to his third wife, Carole, after he lost his second wife, Sophie. Carole was the mother of two, Candace and Tracy, before she met Hiram. So they were both responsible for the upbringing of their children. McDowell's dream was to become president of the International College of Surgeons. He had to make a promise to his colleague, Michael O'Leary, to help him fulfill his dreams. On the other hand, Hiram’s son, Billie, made a great mistake. What could Billie have done? Did Hiram McDowell fulfill the promise he made to Michael? Get a copy of the book to find the answers to these key questions.

I love the way the book was written and how the author told the story. The story is interesting because it has a lot of moral lessons that can shape one’s way of life. It’s also an educational book that teaches youths how to live an upright life and parents the essence of good parenting. William H. Coles did an amazing job with the character development, and the introduction of new characters made it more entertaining as they fit into the plot of the book. I love the different plot twists and the setting of the book. The suspense throughout the novel was worthwhile because it was difficult for me to predict what would happen in the following section. I also like the author's choice to divide the book into different sections. It made it clear and understandable.

There were a few things that made me worried while reading the book, and I’ll make mention of them. Hiram’s mistakes were avoidable, but I guess humans find it difficult to deal with greed, as it often leads to their downfall. I was also sad that Hiram didn’t look after his family, and this act really affected them. This is part of the book, and it made the story an interesting one, so I must say it didn’t affect my general perspective of it. The book deserves a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars because of its positive aspects.

I also noted that the book was free of errors. This is because the author ensured it was exceptionally well edited. This book would be best suited for fiction lovers because they will find it interesting to read.
