Review of Man Mission
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is an intriguing personal and travel fiction that explores friendship, decision-making, adventurous experiences, growth, motivation, and unique challenges faced by its characters. This tale revolves around four Australian men, including an unnamed protagonist, and their quest for personal fulfilment and manhood.
Their epic journey takes them to various countries, such as New Zealand, South Korea, and South Africa, where they engage in perilous adventures like hiking, biking, trekking, climbing, and kayaking in dangerous environments. The story also portrays the challenges the protagonist and his friends encounter as they transition from single young adults to married men with families. Overall, this captivating genre of personal fiction delves into the lives of these men as they seek new experiences and strive to define their paths to becoming real men.
I found immense pleasure in every narrative woven in this book, beginning with the author's insightful exploration of societal issues, including the transformative journey from young adulthood to married life. The characters, especially the protagonist, captivated me with their determination to overcome obstacles. I particularly admired the men's consideration for their wives, seeking the approval of the "wife community" before embarking on any adventure. One captivating aspect of this book is the inclusion of inspiring scriptures, with a personal favourite being the quote from Daniel 10:18–19, urging readers not to fear and reminding them of their worth and esteem.
I have no reservations about this book, as its storyline is brimming with elements that leave no room for dissatisfaction. Filled with exciting adventures, lightheartedness, and amusement, it takes readers on a transformative journey into the essence of manhood. Furthermore, it presents an abundance of motivational and inspiring quotes, including a personal favourite from chapter XII: "A man should be able to hear, and bear the worst said of him."
I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It deserves such high praise due to its abundant offerings, catering to both those in search of entertainment, excitement, and joy, as well as those yearning for personal development and fulfilment. This book is an absolute masterpiece, exhibiting exceptional editing and a flawless absence of errors. I highly recommend this book to enthusiasts of thrilling narratives and individuals seeking to explore different cultures and marvellous destinations through the pages of a book, particularly those who have been unable to venture out for an extended period. It serves as an excellent source of learning and discovery.
