Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is about the adventure and lives of four best friends across fifteen years as they go on their annual adventure trip. “Man Mission” began as the college dream of a couple of guys in Australia. After college graduation, when their careers start to take off, they come together to make their dream a reality. “Man Mission” evolved over the years. “Man Mission One” was a sixty-mile bike ride in New Zealand which was not an easy trek for white-collared men who had few outdoor adventures. As the years passed, they chose harder and more exciting challenges, including kayaking around islands in Fiji, biking the entire length of South Korea, and hiking Machu Picchu. “Man Mission” became about more than just adventure, but as a chance to take a break from their lives and connect with nature and each other. The “Man Missions” guided the guys through marriage, divorce, having children, and health scares.

Uliel divulges the innermost thoughts of a man. The good and the bad in the lives of each character are nicely woven into the details of the yearly adventure trip making the book seem genuine. Man Mission addresses the pressure that men have in their daily lives and their struggle to express their feelings. The main characters each develop over the fifteen years the book covers. The book ends with the men in a place of realization without the pressure that society places on them. There were a variety of countries across the world and activities that ignited the need for a thrill in any reader. I found this book enjoyable and with no negative aspects.

I rate Man Mission five out of five stars. It was written well, and the style made the book easy to read. Incorporation of multiple cultures makes this book informative. The recaps after each trip were helpful as well. There were no noticeable errors, and it appeared to be well-edited.

Man Mission is the perfect book for adventure lovers and world travelers. The book appears to be written for a male audience, but both men and women will be entertained by it. Men will be able to relate to the trials the men face emotionally and physically. Women have the opportunity to see how men think and how much they feel. The book contained expletives; therefore, I recommend this for adult readers only.
