Ragamuffin is a story about a young lady named Ellie that comes from a lower class family from a farm-like place called the devil's frying pan to relocate to strangers after a tragic accident that threatened her mother's life. The setting of the story is at a small community of Bellesburg where girl experienced a completely new lifestyle family wise, social wise and school wise. As afraid as the girl was moving to a place she knows nothing about, she never let her courage die but rather she allowed it to touch and transform every life around her. A lot of the people at that place were like defeated soldiers given the fact that some were old. Ellie's personality would spark a fire for fixing personal and social issues that were threatening the lives of both the young and old at Bellesburg.

Most of the events are relateable while a few sound exaggerated for instance, when she went to the retired engineer that took her seriously and even offered her a few lessons that would come from a detective the first time he heard her story. I think the parts that sound a bit exaggerated are there to support the view that it's a fictional story.

In order for a reader of to understand the cohesiveness of the story, they must always read the tittle of the chapter plus the first few paragraphs to get to understand which character is now narrated since the story is written in the first person narration. I rated the story a full 4/4 because the author was successful in describing the events that portrays the main characters in an understandable way. It was less predictive but mostly introduced every scene with new interesting ocurances that fills the gaps of the missing information from previous chapters. The conclusion was perfectly formed and causes the reader to yearn for a sequel of the book.
