Climate change has caused a depletion in the amount of material needed to support life. The world does not have enough drinkable water to sustain life. Things were so horrible that when old buildings caught fire, they were left to burn because of insufficient water to put out fires; organ transplants were not allowed; and the disabled were not given attention. The master computer that runs on AI rules the world because people don't have confidence in our leaders anymore. The master computer suggested that the available resources can only support two-thirds of the world's population; thus, no one is allowed to live past 60 years. People received a letter on their 59th birthday reminding them they have a year to prepare for emotional therapy, plan their finances, and get ready for serenity center appointments. If you want to know what a serenity center appointment is and how the story in this book went, read the rest of this book.

Lilah is a woman in her fifties who has just been served this letter. The rest of the book details how she processed the thought of knowing she was destined to die soon. Indeed, we cannot live forever and don't know when we will die. The story in this book is different because Lila knew when she would die. If you want to know how she lived her last days, read this book.

The truth is, I know about the concept of climate change on a surface level. This book was practical as to what the likely outcome will be if we humans continue to have less regard for our home, the earth. After reading this book, I became very conscious of how I use water, the quantity of food I eat, and my lifestyle in general.

One thing I can say is that Dorothy is an expert storyteller. I love the arrangement of the story in this book. I commend the character development, and the editing of this book was professionally done. This book is not voluminous, and there is nothing I dislike about it. Bringing the above together, I will give this book a five out of five stars rating.

In my opinion, the thoughts in this book are like a prophecy; if we don't do anything about climate change currently, I wouldn't be surprised if the scenario in this book plays out in the future. I recommend this book to world leaders, climate change enthusiasts, and anyone who cares about leaving the earth better than we met it. Time To Get Out Of The Way by Dorothy Duvall is one of the books that will make you feel like crying after reading it.
