Name of the book: A Place Under the Sun
Author's name: Luis Urtueta
Summary: The book "A Place Under the Sun", written by Luis Urtueta, is a novel that revolves around Henry, a Dubai-based consultant who's poorly adapted to circumstances. Numerous hindrances and challenges arise with his work life, relationships, and parents. On top of this, his job demands him to be confident at all times in the consulting firm. There is this one thing that I took note of, and this book taught me, it's not about what you say, but how you say it.
It is an interesting book for introverts as they will be able to relate to the main character of the book, Henry, and his struggles as a corporate employee. The flow of the book is evenly maintained by the author which is why I was able to complete the book in one go.
The book is a journey of Henry as to how he develops his character to do his best in his career despite all the challenges he faces.
Positive: The book is exceptionally well written, reading it I felt that the content flows like moving water throughout the book. It was a fun and interesting read.
Negative: The book only has four chapters which makes it hard to refer to any specific event after one is done reading. Plus, in the long chapters, readers might not remember all the events that took place. Other than this I didn't find anything that can be put into this section of the review.
I'd rate this book 5 out of 5 because being an introvert myself I was able to relate many things with Henry's situation. It also taught me that one needs to improve many things to excel, the most important of it all is stepping out of one's comfort zone.
Recommendation: I would recommend reading this book if you are looking for a mix of ironic, witty content and a unique writing style. People who constantly doubt their worth have much more to learn from this book. It would be a good read for readers who want to get a taste of the corporate world from a closer angle as this book is mainly based on Henry focusing on his career.
Errors: I didn't find any errors in the book. The book is flawlessly edited.
