Organic Words Meaning-Free is a book written by an author by the name of Youssef Ahalla. It’s a poetry book that contains around thirty poems about various subjects.
Going into this, I didn’t really know what to expect from this book. I’m happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. It’s clear that the author put a lot of hard work into writing the actual poems. A lot of them are so beautifully written and have such a deep meaning behind them if you read between the lines. For me, poetry is either really good or really bad to the point where I don’t even want to finish reading it. It was most definitely not the latter of the two.
I especially liked the one poem about time. I really liked the author’s take on it and how they talked about different people’s perspectives on it. I also really loved a part where the author says, “the real poison was all the words that I couldn’t write.” This is exceptionally well written and I think a lot of people who value reading or writing will be able to relate. It’s definitely the kind of work where you really do start to think about things that wouldn’t normally cross your mind.
Despite the poetry itself being good, there were actually a surprising amount of errors in the book. It’s possible that these grammatical and spelling issues could be part of the author’s writing style. However, all the tiny mistakes throughout the book seem to be accidental. For example, where it says “a long line in from of Victoria Secret’s store.” It seems that the word from was actually meant to say front instead. Another example being where it says “that we lost the past in our abandon boat.” In this case, abandon should have actually been corrected to abandoned instead. There are small mistakes like this all throughout the different poems.
Overall, I think I would rate this book a solid 2 out of 4 stars. However, don’t mistake this as the book being bad because that is most definitely not the case. The typos and errors just started to get slightly annoying the more I read. These should really be fixed as it cause some readers to judge the book before even giving the poems a chance. I’d really hate to see this happen as the poems are actually meaningful and the writer definitely does deserve some recognition. I’m glad I checked this book out and would for sure recommend it to any fans of poetry.
