Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is the tale of four men and their yearly adventures. Each year, they plan a trip that involves danger and physical exertion that showcases what it means to be a man. They tackled places such as New Zealand, Fiji, and Peru. Through these yearly "Man Missions," they are able to escape from their lives for a few short days as well as get a nice dose of adrenaline. Crazy things seemed to happen on these trips, such as having to finish the first trip in the back of a drug dealer's truck. However, these trips do not stop problems at home from following them. As tension from reality gets to them, will the "Man Missions" continue, or will they buckle under the pressure of being middle-aged men?

One of my favorite parts of this book was seeing how each man evolved as the story progressed. They all began to age, some got married and had kids, and life generally began to become crazier for each of them. Before settling on a trip, they had to consult the "Wives Committee" in order to let their wives stop them from seriously harming themselves. It was a nice reality check for the guys who, despite not training a day for the missions, thought they were unstoppable.

I also enjoyed that a short recap of each adventure was given when it was over. The report provided information such as distance traveled, injuries sustained, and mode of transportation. I thought this was a nice way to summarize the journey.

There was really nothing to dislike about this book. I did not spot any errors; it was exceptionally well-edited. I will note it did contain a lot of profanity, so sensitive readers should take note of that. I believe that, because of the language, it is only suitable for adults.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I quite enjoyed reading it. It was fast-paced, funny in places, sad in others, and captured the reality of growing older. I believe that men and women alike would be able to relate to the book. I recommend this to fans of books that feature adventure coupled with real-life issues. For me, this one was quite difficult to put down and was such an amazing adventure to read about!
