Anak, a magnificient caribu bull, dominates his kind in his snowy habitat. Then he is captured by men who want to use him to expand their raindeer herd. From then on, the only affection he gets comes from Ootek, a young Eskimo who is also alone in the world. Ootek looks forward to carve a life for himself in the harsh wilderness. How Anak helps Ootek to make his dream come true is just a part of this very touching story, set during the early years of 20th century, in Alaska.
