Review of Man Mission
Eytan Uliel's book Man Mission is a novel about friendship. The novel follows the protagonists, Eytan and Sam, as they embark on an adventure in New Zealand. Two of their friends, Alec and Daniel, later join them. Together, they push themselves to the limit and have fun along the way. Eytan and his three college friends shared the same dream: to explore exotic islands and go on wild adventures. What adventures did they undertake?
Fifteen years ago, four men met at law school. They dreamed of visiting new exotic places, having wild adventures and tasting exotic food. After graduating, they went their separate ways and became independent. Each built a life for himself, making new friends, building relationships and starting careers. One day Sam and Eytan decided to travel to an exotic place and explore the island, but it all ended in disaster. Hearing of their adventures, Alec and Daniel met them and decided to embark on another journey, pushing themselves to the limit. Many things happened during their time away, but they had a great time and decided to make it an annual adventure, one they called The Man Mission. During their travels, they took the time to talk about their home lives and struggles, while giving each other advice. Follow the journey of these young men by picking up a copy of this novel!
Man Mission is captivating to read. There are many aspects of the book that I enjoyed. The humour is appealing; there is a sense that underneath the seriousness of the events, there are jokes being made between the characters. I liked that. The story is fun and action-packed. In the middle of an adventure, each chapter of the book begins. The author wastes no time in diving into the drama that unfolds during the adventures. I like how the author highlights men's mental health. Men suffer with their mental health just as much as women do, but it is not often recognised in men. This book is a demonstration of the importance of men talking about their concerns. I admire that the authors went out of their way to map out the adventures they've undertaken. It was a great help to my understanding of where they had their adventures. I loved the development of the characters. I enjoyed understanding each character's point of view. I enjoyed understanding how their struggles had affected their lives. The editing of the book is impeccable. This allowed me to enjoy the book without any minor interruptions.
The men's journey was an exciting one, showing that men don't have to be all about family and work. Often, men are stereotyped as having to work and provide for their families, but this book shows that men struggle with their everyday lives and that some time out with their friends is important for their self-esteem and for their mental health. I feel there is nothing to dislike about the book for all these reasons, including the fact that there were no obvious errors.
Reading this book has been a delightful experience. I am giving the book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I felt that no stars needed to be deducted as there were no mistakes in the book, and the themes presented in the book were emotional and realistic. I loved this book and recommend it. Not often do we read books about men and their mental health, but this book is exceptional and a perfect example of what men deal with every day. I think that the book is best for adventure.
