Cross Intents: The Birth is a Christian fiction novel written by Scott R. Wells. The book, which is the first in the Cross Intents trilogy, is essentially a retelling of the birth of Jesus Christ from the perspective of angels and their conflict with the forces of darkness.

As the book begins, we are introduced to the angel Captain Elric as he meets with Amichai, a righteous man who has passed away. Elric shows the man the effect of his words and prayers in the spiritual realm. Elric is summoned to meet the King, who has decided now is the time for his earthly arrival. Elric is appointed to assemble a small task force to conceal the King until the appointed time. Meanwhile, the enemies of the King seek to disrupt his plan by any means possible, leading to a remarkable conflict between angels and demons. While the end of this story is well known, find out how this epic clash between good and evil plays out in this amazing book.

There is quite a lot to love about this book; to call it a brilliant piece of literature would be an understatement. The author did an exceptional job of weaving his fictional characters into history as given by scripture. This is evident throughout the book, as seen in Daniel's role with the shepherds who go to worship Jesus and Jenli's influence on the Romans. The book also does well to show the dynamics between angels, highlighting their personalities and how that translates into their service to the King. It also emphasizes a lot of the tenets of the Christian faith, like trusting God in the midst of trouble, the value of words, and the importance of prayer and prophecy. The author also does well to draw attention to the ongoing spiritual warfare and our role in it. My greatest takeaway from the book is how all things work together for the good of those who love God because every action of the enemy only advances God's plan in the long run.

I had no negative issues with this book. It is easily one of my favorite Christian books and I cannot wait to see what is next in the trilogy.

I found no errors in this book. It was professionally edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars only because I cannot rate it any higher. The writing is brilliant and its message is very important. I recommend this book to lovers of Christian novels.
