Nimue: Freeing Merlin was a fascinating experience to read and immerse my mind into. I rate this book at a 4 out of 5. I wondered if I would enjoy the fantasy and history mixture that I found within the pages, but the story carried me along as if I was in the book, loving all of it with Nina, the main character. This story takes you on a journey with Nina to places and times she may have never dreamed of. She lives in a time and space that seems to be limitless. This very young woman experiences the former lives of so many, and she is in search of different things, but in the end, she is in search of herself. Traveling through different worlds on Earth and beyond, being able to move past grief and experience some of those you lost and things you did not know about them. Some of the characters were familiar to me, and some were not. For those that were not, it was a part of the journey to get to know them, friend and foe, and to see how much time had passed on Earth after all of her adventures made it all come full circle. The author provides a glossary, some history, and a look at the pieces of the story at the end that I didn't know I wanted to know. I cannot think of a reason not to read this book. This was one I did not want to put down, and it surprised me because while I'm always open to a great book and story, Celtic and Magic themes are not what I usually decide to read. Glad I was open to this one. This was great writing and great editing as it flowed nicely, and there were no distractions from the story.
