The Angel of Death Origins is a fictitious autobiographical account of the experiences of the author, Laurent Cousineau. This new but adept author creates a story narrated by the protagonist, Laurent Casino. The book focuses on the detrimental mental health issues caused by bullying. His accounts are fictitious, and yet they are believable.

Cousineau reproduces what goes on inside his mind in a masterful play with literary devices, such as repetition for emphasis. He also applies humorous names to the teachers and students who bully him continuously from the elementary grades to University. Despite the fact that the protagonist survives the discrimination and bullying of his peers and the complicity of the teachers, he develops a mental illness that keeps him from learning and working as a normal human for over ten years.

Interestingly enough, Cousineau also dedicates focus to the issue of climate change, which became his passion in school. He follows USA politics very closely and includes it in his book. His message to me is clear: People with mental illness are not all violent and destructive. He tolerated the unacceptable behaviors of others, internalizing his frustration and anger and finally succumbing to mental health issues.

He researched the content of his story thoroughly. He uses profanity in the dialogue of the bullies but does not use it for his main character. Cousineau also merits 5 out of 5 stars, for it is apparent that his book was professionally edited. It is important to note that the author delves into his personal beliefs of religion and computer simulation. Therefore, some people of structured religion may disagree with his view. However, I recommend this book to all adults, as well as the younger generation, to become aware of the aftermath of engaging in bullying someone else.

It is a realistic representation of someone with mental illness.
