Nimue: Freeing Merlin By: Ayn Cates Sullivan Ph.D. (B&N Edition)
I give Nimue: Freeing Merlin 5 out of 5 Stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found myself enthralled from the very beginning as we are introduced to Nina, a 17-year-old girl from Manhattan. Ayn Cates Sullivan PhD writes with exquisite detail and paints vivid imagery for the reader to become part of the story. I felt as though I was there amongst the characters going through the experiences with them. I found myself curious from the start as to where the story was going and immediately knew it would peak my interest. The journey that Nina goes through to uncover her roots and true meaning are truly fantastic. The cross from modern day to fantastical/mythical times is seamless and kept me turning pages. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat with difficulty putting the book down. The story telling of Ayn Cates Sullivan is truly captivating. There were many unusual names and places in the book and luckily there is a glossary at the back that helps to explain everything, though I honestly didn’t even look at this until the end of reading the book. I cannot think of anything that I would add or change to this book to make it more enjoyable. In my humble opinion, I found it perfect as it was written. The writing style, grammar, and accuracy of text was impressively flawless. It was clear that this book was written with passion and a thorough understanding of the mythical references included. If you are looking for a book to truly engage you and transport you from the modern day to magical, mythical, and fantastical times, this book is perfect for you. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the other masterpieces crafted by Ayn Cates Sullivan.
