These are my two favorite books. I would appreciate it if anyone could make some good recommendations for other books to read. I have read most of DFW's books. I have read The Crying Lot of 49, but nothing else since other books by Pynchon are always framed in the light of being 'a good primer' for Gravity's Rainbow, seemingly covering similar themes in a more accessible manner. Any recommendations on his front?

Otherwise what other authors/books would you recommend to me?

I've never heard of "Lot 49", but I looked up on Amazon and the description says it's about conspiracies? So... the first book that comes to mind is Catch-22. Have you tried that one?

It's an older book, I struggled through it for a while, but once the story gets rolling, there are some very beautiful moments.
