Border Post 99: No Man's Land was written by Kedar Pantankar. Two enemies roam the India-Pakistan border called No Man's Land. Both Lt. Sharma, a 25-year-old Indian rookie, and Captain Kahn, a Pakistani veteran, have orders not to shoot one another. One wants to fight, the other wants to be left alone to live his life in piece, but both want to take the other out. They try to find ways to get each other off of the land, but end up finding common ground instead.

To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up this book, but I ended up enjoying it very much. It had action that will appeal to people who enjoy army stories, but there is humor to the book as well through their childish pranks to try and get each other off of the land. The book was under one hundred pages, which makes it a quick and fun read for anyone.

While I would say that I really enjoyed the humor of the book, it provides a good message as well. Both men really hate each other in the beginning, but yet they have orders to play nice with each other and get along. Both personalities clash at first, but after a while they begin to see past appearances and prejudices and understand each other a little bit. While they do not necessarily become best friends in the end, it just shows that anyone can get past their differences if they really want to.

One thing I found a little bit strange is the fact that there is no chapters in this book. While it is not a long book, I would have preferred it to be split up into chapters. Otherwise, I could not think of anything wrong with the book. It was fun, funny, and intriguing.

There is a little bit of everything for everyone in this book. It is not a full blown war story, but they are soldiers looking after their posts, which is something that I think soldiers and people who enjoy war stories will find appealing. Anyone who enjoys short and fun stories will get a kick out of this book. The action and pranks from the soldiers also make this book appealing to many ages.

I rate Border Post 99: No Man's Land 4 out of 4 stars. Since I could not find anything wrong with the book other than the fact that I would have preferred chapters, I did not see any reason to give a lower score than than a four. The story was enjoyable from start to finish, and I think anyone who picks it up won't be able to put it down.

Love your review! This sounds like a great book. I love that it's not just a war story. Humanizing characters is super important and it sounds like it's done well in this book. I can only imagine the sorts of pranks they do. My husband is in the military and I know he and his friends take pranks to a whole different level. It's pretty hilarious. I have to agree with you on this one. Peace between twin conutries is something to be learnt. Not only that, peace between people from a different tribe, race and any other form of differences that's out there, should learn how to live in peace.
