One of the great aspects of this book is the fact that the author can relate to very dynamic and, as a function of this, very personable characters that take up residence within the reader even after the final page of the book has been turned. From the detailed way in which Alexander sets the table to the in-depth, heartfelt letters that go back and forth between Arthur and Hinata, so dynamic and rich are the characters portrayed that one almost feels that they could step off of the page.

But what makes "Not Dead Yet!" is the way the stories are vivid explorations of tangled emotions and relationships, particularly in later life. The stories are infused with a sense of nostalgia, regret, and ultimately, hope, and they are quite moving and thought-provoking. This is something Fletcher has done very well, weaving these stories together in so many different yet related ways, which is a credit to his art of storytelling.

Moreover, the book is very well written; there are no typographical or profanity errors. The narrative is smooth, and one gets caught from the very first page until the end. There are excellent details in the descriptions of the setting and the characters, creating a clear picture in the reader's mind of every scene.

If we are to search for shortcomings, it is hard to find them in "Not Dead Yet!": it is a masterful work of fiction. Perhaps a greater diversity of perspectives or a wider range of characters could have added even more depth to the stories, but this is a very minor point in an otherwise flawless collection.

I rate "Not Dead Yet!" by Mark Fletcher, a solid 5 out of 5-star. These stories are very touching and some of the best fiction books ever written about the lives people live—their experiences, their touch on family life, their LGBTQ+ representation, and the intricacies of relationships. I recommend it!
