Eternity by Carlos is a fictional story of two immortal ethereal beings who decide to kill their chains of boredom by playing a game on two human lives. The two ethereal beings are invisible to mere human eyes and are constantly changing locations, looking for ways to kill their boredom, after which they decide to play a game between two unnamed humans who are completely oblivious to the fact that they are pawns in a game of chess between the two beings.

I really love how engaging this book was. The author has a unique style of writing but still limits the narrative details of the book. For example, the names of the characters are absent. I know you’re wondering how this is possible, but believe it when I say that it is, and it wasn’t until the end of the book that I realized that I never got to know the names of the characters, and that was how captivated I was by the book. The two unnamed characters are best friends who confide in each other about many things, including the intimate relationships they’ve had with others.

Then, they are entangled in a romantic relationship by the ethereal beings, leading to intimate actions, overthinking, and fear of the outcome of their friendship as they’ve both been really good friends. Furthermore, as the book progresses, the ethereal beings begin to spice up their game by adding a “test” to determine whether their attraction for each other is profound or fleeting. The “test” acted as fuel for their relationship and helped them grow closer to each other.

Overall, I found nothing to dislike about this book. It was a good read, well-paced, and very engaging. The chapters were short and enjoyable and it is totally binge-worthy. The book had a mysterious vibe to it and had a very unpredictable plot twist at the end. This book was free from errors and professionally edited.

I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for its well-paced storyline, unique storytelling method, and engaging tale. Readers are drawn in and will not want to put the book down until the very end because of the author's choice to exclude character names from the story. The book is a captivating read that is difficult to put down because of its short, pleasing chapters and unexpected story twists. Its overall quality is improved by the excellent editing and lack of faults. However, younger readers may be restricted due to the mildly vulgar language. I recommend this book to people who love a good romance book with a hint of mystery, but I do not recommend this book to children because it makes use of mild, vulgar words.
