I am looking for a really interesting book for my girlfriend. She is into psychology and loves gettin really deap while thinking about things. I am pretty much looking for a really interesting book that will not bore her. Any recommendations?

Blink by Malcolm Gladwell is something you both might enjoy. It's about how people make split second decisions. It has some really interesting stories in it, but it's a little short on the technical information. Despite this, I still think about all the stories two years after I read it.

sounds like me and your girlfriend would get along when it comes to books! i find a lot of books written now days to be written for half-braindead teenage girls but i really enjoyed the following list recently:

oryx and crake by margaret atwood
lisey's story by stephen king (that one really surprised me!)
the hours by michael cunningham
watership down by richard adams
the secret scripture by sebastion barry

You are the only other person that I have noticed that has ever mentioned this book, I have not found anyone else who has read it. I really liked it and it surprised me as well. I was trying to get friends and relatives to read it (but no one wanted to), so I could talk to them about it.

To Cheezzuss: Your girlfriend might like a John Irving book such as Cider House Rules or A Widow for One Year.

I adored that book. normally i am not a huge stephen king fan, but just the way he got into their relationship was amazing and beautiful. it couldnt have been better written in my opinion. i am trying to get a couple of my friends to read it, but none of them aprreciate it quite as much as i did. glad to hear you agree!

Second!!! She just wrote another book with the same characters as Oryx and Crake, it is called The Year of the Flood. It was excellent. Just as good as Oryx and Crake.

Anything by Margaret Atwood. My favorite is The Handmaid's Tale.

that is awesome!!! so excited to read that now! it was so different. it was exciting how she unraveled the story as she went.
