William H. Coles' fictional book McDowell explores a variety of emotions as well as the consequences of poor parenting, betrayal, and other vices. The experiences of Hiram McDowell, a family man and surgeon, served as the basis for the book.
 
Hiram McDowell, the protagonist of this book, lost his second wife, Sophie, and married Carole, his third wife, after she had two children, Tracy and Candice, before they were married. Both of them took responsibility for raising their children. Hiram promised his colleague Michael O'Leary that he would fulfil his aim of becoming president of the International College of Surgeons. This book does a great job of chronicling the lives and times of Hiram, who demonstrated humility in the face of hardship. Could Hiram keep the word he had given Michael? To get the solution to this question, pick up a copy of this book.
 
The book is full of original features. The plot of the novel illustrates the author's distinctive writing style, which made it an extremely engaging read. Readers will be enthralled by the story's use of suspense as well. I could not stop turning the pages, waiting to see what would happen next. The story's motivational quotations have added to the book's captivating quality. I also learnt about human behaviour while reading this book. If there was anything I disliked about the book, it was Hiram's lack of family-orientated behaviour. I also discovered that people should learn to be content because greed frequently results in one's demise. However, these issues had no bearing on my overall assessment of the book, which I shall still give a rating of five out of five stars.
 
I also want to note that while reading the book, I came across some errors, which shows that the book was professionally edited. I will recommend this book to lovers of fiction and mystery because I believe it will interest them.
