Review of Depths of Devotion
How far can you go to do what you love? What are the limits, and can you surpass them? Would you brave all odds to fulfill your passion? Depths of Devotion by Anne Hopper Vickstrom is a romance and suspense novel that takes us on Kate’s journey as a volunteer and her life of devotion and sacrifice.
Kate Ridgely was a trained doctor who volunteered for years at Aids and served in Africa. She started a clinic in a village and saw many other volunteers come and go until she met Jason Knight. They fell in love despite Kate being older than him by over a decade. They lived and worked at the local clinic and suffered so many attacks. The villages they worked for were later wiped out, their clinic was burned down, and they had to leave. With reality setting in, they realized that their perfect love might not have been that perfect at all. With Kate completely devoted to her life of volunteering, Jason might just be left hanging. This book takes us through their love story, adventures, and devotion.
I totally loved reading this book. It was a very touching read, and I enjoyed reading Kate and Jason’s beautiful story of love. Despite the fact that Kate was much older and they were a generation apart, their love was so flawless and perfect that it was hard to look away. Even more intriguing was Kate’s devotion to saving lives, despite the difficulties she faced. She devoted her entire life to living in rural areas and helping the villagers, which was a life of discomfort. I also loved how compassionate and caring she was, which made me fall in love with her character. It was a very amazing read.
I did not dislike anything about the story. Although it was a very lengthy read that was not easy to complete, I could hardly drop the book due to the suspense. The story was beautifully written, and I felt so many emotions while reading the story. I fell in love with the main characters and the beautiful and selfless work they were doing for people who had no access to the developed society. I also loved their bravery, courage, and determination in the face of danger, including death. It was such an inspiring read.
I rate this book five out of five stars for its beautiful and compelling story. The book was exceptionally edited; I didn't come across any grammatical errors while reading the book. I recommend this book to individuals interested in volunteering in health organizations. I also completely recommend this book to individuals looking for a good romance and suspense novel. This is a very beautiful read.
