Old books - Deceased Estate
I am not a literary person, so, I'm asking a favour please.

I have a number of books on which I would like some advice. I'm not a dealer, just asking if these books are worth anything to anyone, some of which are over 100 years old.
I speak of the Marie Carelli books. My late mother had 29 of them. I'd hate to dump them if they could be of any value to anyone.
I have asked bookshops, but they are either unknown to the person in the shop, too old, or too new, depending on your outlook.
I also have a set of Agatha Christie books in pristine condition that I am looking for advice on.
I hope I do not offend, or break any rules.

Thanks and regards.
Neil.

There are Agatha Christie books that go for a lot of money, but they're first editions and in excellent condition. For example, the first Marie Corelli book A Romance of Two Worlds was published in 1886. Is that the only date in the front of the book? Does it have a lot of scuffs?
Pictures might be a big help too.

Finally someone offers some help not just "niggling". Now I know what you want, I will work at it as fast as I can.
I can't thank you enough for your help. I know nothing of these things, I just wanted to see if there was any interest in these old books.
Regards to ya.

You can donate them to your local library. Alternatively, you can use the services of BookCrossing. You can google it to find out more.neil wrote:Hello all,

An antiquarian book store is a great source of information as well. Google for that and you'll get a list in your area.
