I have been in the mood lately to read the type of book where people have psychic powers. I remember reading one in high school about two teenagers that had them, and they could speak telepathically even though one was on a different side of the country from the other. The boy also talks about seeing his step mom's aura when she walks in front of a white wall. There is also a part where one of them is trying to center themselves with the energy of the earth and imagines a white bar of energy from the earth up through their spine to the sky.

If anyone knows this book, or has any good recommendations please let me know. I want to read something where modern people have telekinetic/telepathic abilities. I know I've read a couple before but I can't bring them to mind.
