Do you like to read or watch war movies? This book is suited to all people who like to read or watch action movies. What do you think when you read the title of this book? Is it a scary journey of a soldier at war? Border Post 99 in a No Man’s Land written by Kedar Patankar will bring you on a journey of a soldier. This book belongs to the other fiction genre. A soldier needs to be brave, smart, wise and fearless all the time.
Lieutenant Sharma is a freshly commissioned officer from the Indian Military Academy. He is 25 years old and does not have a battle experience, but he was sent to border post 99. It is the most sensitive areas in the world. His job was to watch the border and report any suspicious activity. On the other side is a Pakistan territory. A soldier named Khan was sent by the Pakistan soldiers to watch the Pakistan border, too. The two soldiers always make their guns ready to shoot.
One day, they found each other in a stream of water that is located between the Indian and Pakistan border. Who will shoot first? One of the soldiers found his revolver with a damn of worms. The other was trapped and hanging on the tree. Who will win? Both of them found a clue that changes their perspective. What is the clue?Don’t make too much noise, don’t make yourself too obvious, and be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice.
I can’t imagine myself being in the middle of the battle with only tall trees around me. The author captures my attention right from the beginning of the story. I thought the story would only scare me, but I found it interesting. I like the author’s revenge scheme because it sounds funny.
I feel the emotion of the soldier when they are in Military operations. Every move will either make them win or lose their lives. They face danger all the time. They need to defend their own country as well as the country depends on them.
The author gives me tips on how to be strong and brave in the middle of the forest. I like how the author makes the plot to overcome loneliness. It is not easy to become a soldier. A soldier sacrifices their lives and families to help the country. Often times, they wanted to go home to be with their families, but their duty is very important.
Border Post 99 is a short story, and it is very entertaining. The grammar is good and is easy to read. I did not encounter any typos or misspelled words. I refused to give a negative comment because the story flows well. I enjoyed reading it. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I did not regret when I read this book in my spare time because Border Post 99 entertains my exhausted mind. Every time I imagine the story’s revenge scheme will make me laugh. The author’s plot of the story will easily catch the reader’s attention.
