Cross Intents: The Baptism, written by Scott R. Wells, is the second book in the trilogy. This book continues with the story of protecting the king from enemies and Elric being the main guard. Just as the first book talks about the birth of the king, Jesus, one brings the story of Jesus to His baptism. Elric played his role well in protecting the king by ensuring the king's identity was hidden from the enemies. This showed how Elric was determined and loyal to his role.

This book still explores the struggle with the forces of darkness. It also mentions how John the Baptist began his ministry of baptizing and preaching to the people which indicated preparation for the coming of the Messiah. Baptism is the main theme in this book.

I liked this book because the author explored themes that relate to the life of Jesus, which is a rare thing to find. The words used are easy and well understood, hence, no challenges are found when reading the book. I also liked how the story connects from the first book. It has a good flow. The author also described all the characters well, together with the roles they play. This book taught me a lot that I did not know in the Bible. For instance, ministries for the preparation for the coming Messiah.

I did not find anything to dislike in this book, and from the above, mentioned likes, I will give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The editing was exceptionally done since I did not find any noticeable grammatical errors while reading.

I will recommend this book to lovers of Christian fiction books. They will learn a lot from this book. Also, to other readers who are curious to know what this book is all about.
