reading new authors

Post by theaudiologylady »

I have been going to a lot of book festivals recently and reading a lot of smaller books from small publishers. I just finished reading one called Lincoln's Hand which is a mystery based on the actual historical event of a bunch of counterfeiters trying to steal Abraham Lincoln's body a decade after his death. Then it jumps to the present and a terrorist trying to bomb our National Monuments and an FBI agent getting sent to Springfield IL to oversee the opening of Abraham Lincoln's tomb to see if his body is really there. While in Springfield there is a murder at the tomb and the FBI agent has to solve all these mysteries. It was fun. I got it on Kindle.

And.......?

I thought the thread was about whether you like new authors. In which case, im always wary of trying someone with little fanbase or reviews behind them but sometimes i have been pleasantly surprised, as in Steig Larsson.
