Is set in a nursing home, showing us that, despite their advanced age, they still have dreams, aspirations, and desires, just like any other human being, and they continue to live. Thank you, Fletcher, for writing characters that felt authentic. For making each story unique and engaging thanks to the diversity of themes and the ease with which you connect with the residents' longing for dignity and privacy.

Although, perhaps out of habit, the use of signs ("") is a bit confusing; I don't know if this is the case for anyone else, but at least for me, if it weren't for the action, I'd wonder if it's something the character is actually thinking or saying. Just for that reason I don't give it 5 stars.

On the other hand, I liked the detail of the question "But do you see us?" because not everyone understands the concept of SEEING something or someone, of really paying attention, and I liked that small detail, even though it may seem insignificant.
Through the story (and this was something I really liked), we get to know the characters' experiences a little more deeply. Not from a general perspective, but from an individual perspective, which allows you to connect a little more with the characters and what they feel. Without a doubt, my favorite characters were Frank and Douglas and their love story; I also managed to connect somewhat with Shirley; she's a fun character.
I felt better once Jil understood that older people aren't just an area in which she must perform, and she began to connect more with them and their stories, the struggles they face, the neglect and indifference with which they end up living.

Overall, the book is quite beautiful and moving, but beyond that, it's thoughtful. It's a book that people should definitely read at least once in their lives. I'm a little sad that it only has an English version, as that would definitely give it a bit more reach; that's why it took me so long to finish it, since my English is quite basic. I'd say it would be nice if it had a Spanish version so that those who have basic English (like me) or don't speak English at all have the opportunity to enjoy it as I did and not get stuck reading. Thank you so much for creating a book that raises awareness about older adults through the clever use of humor, realism, and a bit of poetry, but with the clear purpose of not forgetting them, who still have a life to enjoy.
Without further ado, please accept your well-deserved 4 stars.
