Cross Intents: The Baptism is the second book in the Cross Intents Trilogy. It was amazing! I didn’t think the first one could get any better, but this second one was epic! In this story, the angels were assigned to protect Jesus. It started from his birth and continued through his baptism. It was important that the evil forces not prevent this from happening. The angels and demonic entities continue to fight, but the action is more intense in this second book, and the excitement builds. Seeing the protection surrounding us and how God uses his angels to accomplish his will was heartwarming. All the characters came to life through the pages of this book. The author did a fantastic job of utilizing all five senses so the reader could feel right there with the characters. There were many close calls to keep Jesus and his family hidden from the enemy, which was truly captivating. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed reading it, and one of the things I enjoyed about it was how the author portrayed the character of Jesus. I thought it was amazing how he had Jesus’ character do things that gave a nod to how Jesus truly is today. For example, in the story Mary explained that peek a boo is Jesus’ favorite game because he loves to be “found.” She stated, “It’s as if he lives for it.” That, among many other things that Jesus has done, shows the reader who Jesus truly is today. I believe that besides telling the story of what happened in the past, this book can also help the reader understand what is happening today. It can comfort anyone who reads this book to realize how much we are truly being protected, why things happen the way they do, and how much we are truly loved. There is nothing I did not like or would change about this book. I am looking forward to reading the last book in this series.
