Beach recomendations

Post by Blazingice0608 »

Hey everyone, im new to this forum, seems like a cool place to chat about books, i think ill definitly spend some time here in the future. Anyway, im going to be going to the beach in a few weeks and im looking for some good recomendations. I pretty much like all kinds of books, im a huge King fan, but i like all kinds of thrillers whether they be legal, cop, political, horror, etc. as well as fantasy, sci fi, historical fiction, or just the kind of fiction that doesnt even really fall under a catogory. The only kind of books i dont really like are romance, lol.

Anyway, for the beach im looking for something kind of simple, for example right now im finishing up The Pillars of the Earth, which is absolutly amazing, but lets face it, even aside from its length, its a heavy book that requires lots of thought, etc. Im looking for a good ol thriller that cant be put down and fly's by without having to do a lot of analyzing, etc. In particular i would like a politcal thriller, but it seems like all the good authors just have long running series like Clancy and Flynn. I happen to like Brad Melzter although hes probably more mediocre, but i like how all his books are a stand alone new story if that makes sense. But it doesnt have to be politcal, its just a preference i have, but if anyone knows of some good stand alone politcal thrillers, im all ears. Otherwise, what kind of beach reading thrillers do you recomend?

What i recommand you is not a thriller, but you can read it easy and it lifts your spirit. I'm talking about Paulo Coelho- The Alchimist.

The Broker by John Grisham. I really enjoyed it when I read it while on vacation!
Happy reading!

Yeah alchemist would be a good choice.. It's light and interesting though there are some parts that you might find boring.
