There’s also a higher chance for a third party to take the lead, especially since the Democratic Party’s frontrunner, Lanni Portello, is back for her sixth run at the presidency, and luck still hasn’t smiled her way. Now, the Party of Eagles, a small party that is always in the background, nominated John Smith, a multi-billionaire, as their candidate. However, John Smith and his wife are open swingers, and they’re not planning to stop anytime soon. Will Americans really hand over the presidency to a swinger? Read this captivating story to find out.

Thump by Barry Kohl is a humorous political story that kept me laughing throughout my time reading the book. I enjoyed reading this book because of the author’s great sense of humour. The book portrays how American politics plays out. One part that cracked me up was how Lanni from the Republican Party kept divorcing her husband and marrying someone new every time she lost an election. Now she’s running for president for the sixth time; will she do the same thing again? I enjoyed that this book did more showing instead of telling, and it felt realistic. This is shown in the electoral campaign, where different parties are fighting hard for the presidency. The silly moments in the White House were also super entertaining. I loved that even though the book will make readers have a good laugh, it contains strong themes. One of which is how most politicians campaign hard on their platform, but once they win, they hardly follow through. And that most often leads to political apathy among the citizens.

The message the author is passing across is what I love most about the book. Politics is not about a person but about the people. This can be seen in John Smith and Rosemary Angeletta. I was also impressed by John Smith's last decision. I never saw that coming. I also enjoyed the passionate romance and wild rendezvous between John and his wife. Their sexual adventures were fascinating and drew me into the story. There is nothing I disliked about the book, which is why I will rate it five out of five stars. The book is professionally well-edited. If you’re into American politics or a fan of political satire, then this book is for you. I'm impressed with the author's creativity in making this book a fun and insightful read.

The timing for the emergence of a third party that appears to shake the ones that have been in power for long sounds interesting, but I am sure it is just a matter of time before this happens. It's so brilliant of the author to add humor and other beautiful elements to make this political themed story very inviting and interesting. I usually don't read political stories because of how serious, and sometimes boring they can get, but I will definitely consider this one. Thanks for the wonderful review.
