[Following is a volunteer review of "Strong Heart" by Charlie Sheldon.]

[rbc=4]id156166-125[/rbc]I recommend readers to read this book and I rate it 4 out of 4!! Strong Heart is very well written and is easy to read. It shows that the author, Charlie Sheldon, is a very experienced ones and knows how to carry his readers throughout his book and this is just as being on a journey with the characters.

Strong Heart is about a grandfather, Tom who finds his granddaughter, Sarah, standing at his front door. Tom, had planned a commemorative hike with two family friends and is very unwilling to have the girl stay with thin. His good friend convinces him that there might be a reason why they have to take her along and Tom eventually gives in. The two new-found family members do not at the beginning know how to handle this relationship. The group also has to manage a group of businessmen who want to develop the same forest into a mining area and are also hiking to explore the area.

The story unfolds with a series of events which strengthen the grandfather-granddaughter relationship and re-ascertain the will to protect the area. Whilst it is thought that it is Tom and his friends who were going to take the Sarah on this journey, it is finally the girl who takes them throughout.

The family story therein depicts the beauty of new-found relationships, of people of the same blood bonding. Sarah has quite a sense of humour and it is interesting to see the characters unveiling page after page. Whilst one might have thought that the story is about the new-found relationship or the typical issue of protecting nature against commercial development, the author knows how to twist the story and incorporate historical events therein. There is a touch of mystery surrounding this old forest where Tom, Sarah and the group went hiking and events that may have happened ice ages before. We also uncover the true Strong Heart. It was also interesting to feel the bond that natives have towards their land.

This book is for readers who like family stories with simple but yet endearing characters, with a touch of history in the story and who are in for suspense at every chapter till the very end. I was agreeably surprised since a typical story about a family member finding another turned out to be very different and I definitely hope for a sequel to find out if my creative imagination met the final ending.
