Did Lincoln plan his own assassination?
Someone thought so, which is what got the story's protagonist, Sarah Sue Morgan, in trouble with both the cops (accused of murder) and a powerful conspiracy that wants to hush up Lincoln's Diary (that's also the name of the book). Not only is it an unputdownable story, but there's some fascinating stuff about Lincoln - like he suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from a series of life threatening events in his childhood. And he had enemies on both sides of the Civil War. Stuff we never learned in school. The book is by a new author, DL Fowler. I love his writing. Hope he comes out with another book soon.

Lincoln didn't plan it. It was the Rothschild Family.
Many conspiracies

There could well have been a Rothschild conspiracy as well as the Booth conspiracy - or they could have been one in the same. That doesn't preclude the possibility that Lincoln hatched a plot of his own. After all, he did talk about hanging himself during his presidency. I'm sure not every plot against his life was successful. Maybe Booth beat everyone esle to the punch.

Surely only one was successful?

Surely only one was successful?
What if, there was a successful attempt before Booth's, and they replaced him (Lincoln) with a robot?

Ah here .. what if he was never there to begin with? Is there any actual proof he was ever born? I mean a birth certificate proves nothing does it?

This is getting weird. There were so many theories about Lincolns death, Stanton, the secretary of war was suspect and a representive of the Oregon territory I dont remember his name actually planned his assination but his plans fell through. A robot, though? Heres one for you, How about someone from the future came back in time and did it to change things in the future?

I think that's what you get when you go down the path of some of the more extreme theories.
You mean someone like Ah-nuld the Governator?

Basically, who cares, it's a 'fait accompli'. A work of fiction based on
"Stuff we never learned in school."
