Book Review: City of Thieves
I wouldn’t specify City of Thieves to a certain age group. It is a great read for all ages. It is a fast reading adventure story that brings two young men from Russia together. It takes place in Russia during the siege of Leningrad during World War II. The boys are seen as “criminals” in the Russians eyes, therefore, they are sent on a near impossible quest to find a dozen eggs for a Colonels daughter. Throughout their grueling journey, they grow closer with one another and their bickering dialogue makes the book go by extremely fast. It is hard to put this book down once started. This novel contains humor and moments where you literally on the edge of your seat wondering “how are they going to get out of this one?” I would recommend this book to all who enjoy a good laugh with a twist of nervousness. The adventurous crowd will eat this book up!
