I came across and interesting book concept today. An author, by the name of Alandra CL, appears to be publishing an on-going story on her site. Although when you get to the website, she is promoting a fantasy novel, called "The Alkahest", a little further digging revealed a short story, called "The Sussex Deal". I read the first chapter and its pretty suspenseful. She's promising the next chapter in a couple of days. It leaves you hanging, and its well written.

Its good she is self publishing.
It is seriously difficult to get a book published nowadays even with a book agent.

I'm not familiar with the publishing industry, but I can imagine its competitive and requires a substantial investment by the publisher and without knowing whether the book will sell, it is a risk.
And now with eBooks and the internet, an author can get their name out there without having to be published. It's kind a cool actually. Opens things up.
I'm still a big fan of reading a paperback or hardcover. But I'm guessing eventually it'll all go digital. Hopefully my large collection will be worth something in 80 years from now!! lol

I must be really broken from my university, I've read this and immediately thought "damn, good PR (as in Public Relations) move"
But yeah, the story looks very interesting.

I read the first chapter and apparently the next chapter is coming out today or tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see how the story moves along. I might download it to my iPod though, I'm not a big fan of reading online and I don't have an ereader yet.
