The Brothers Karamazov

Post by npe87 »

Hi, I am new to this forum so forgive me if I am posting at the wrong place!

I just went over the introduction of the book and it seems pretty interesting. I haven't read any of Doseteovsky's works before. Is there anyone out here who has? I would very much like to know what you thought about it!

If you search in the Authors forum there is a discussion there on Fyodor Dostoevsky which will interest you.
I haven't read The Brothers Karamazov but I have it on my Kindle & intend to get to it in the future. I read Crime and Punishment & The Idiot and enjoyed both though I wouldn't describe either as 'easy reading'.

I had read the book log back, around 1971-72. It was a terrific book. I felt as if Dostoevsky's prose was falling on from a great height, like the waters of Niagara. That is all I remember now.His 'Crime and Punishment ' was also great.

I have read that book around couple of months ago.
the prose is great & the story is still is relevant in the present times also.
it is a story about 3 brothers and their relationship with their father.
it has good characters and shows human beings in various shades.
i would recommend you to read it immediately.

Just started, 10% into this book, I was reading Atlas Shrugged but got The Brothers Karamazov for Christmas, I put down Atlas Shrugged. I think it is an easy read compared to Atlas Shrugged.

If by easy you mean incomparably better, then go for it.

Hi guys, so I read this amazing book called The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky and it was incredible. I really want to urge those that have read it to share their views and those that haven't to do so
