This sounds like a great story. Looks to be well written. The concept is so relatable for real life. I know I can relate to turning to music, when things were bad or stressful. I still do really. Not sure I will read it yet, but congratulations on BOTD.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I read the first two chapters and I agree with you that the author skillfully only ads detail to what is pertinent to the story. The trip to the city and the overwhelming feeling of awe as the orchestra played Tchaikovsky is written exactly how someone seeing it for the first time would experience it.

This story line struck a chord with me! I would love to read this book. It is so refreshing when novels are realistic with the portrayal of characters for we are all neither villains nor saints. Marvelous review.

Initially I thought that this is an autobiography. But later I realized that it is a realistic fiction. Love to have a try. Congratulations on being BOTD

The first pages already are captivating, written in a style I appreciate a lot. The realistic description of the characters with good and bad traits, and the recommendation that this book will appeal to music lovers, made me put it right away on my bookshelves - I want to read this book.

I would personally resonate more with a character who has both good and bad traits, as the holistic sense in their creation is very realistic. Thank you for the amazing review.

Based on this review, alone, I want to read this book. I will be reading this book. A person that can overcome whatever life throws at them and achieve their dreams should be celebrated. Someone that passes their story on and allows others to read about the most painful parts of their lives is a hero to inspire us all.

This sounds like a very emotional story, from what I read, Joey is young boy who doesn't have an ideal childhood so he turns to music as he outlet. As well as going against the wishes of his alcoholic father.
