It is stories like this that inspire one to keep pursuing their dreams, regardless of the obstacles one is facing. Joey's story is reminiscent of many we've heard of people who overcame numerous hurdles in order to succeed. Woody is a great story teller and deserves the accolades. Well done!

Sounds like a good read, I'm interested in reading this one and will be adding it to my list. I'm not usually into a book without murder and mayhem, but I'm willing to give this one a try since you rated it so highly.

I'm pretty sure this isn't my kind of book. First off, I really dislike coming-of-age stories; they just do nothing for me. I also don't like books that involve abuse. And I especially don't like books where someone's dreams are discouraged like mine were. There's nothing worse than having one's parents discourage their desires, so I don't care to read about someone else in that position. Thanks for the thorough review, though.

I was initially interested in reading this book because I played trombone in high school, but reading this review further interested me in the story and the characters. I enjoy coming of age novels! This book sounds very well written and appears to tug on heartstrings. I like reading books that have hope and determination. The review stated the author only added necessary information, which is a great characteristic. I've read books with too much information that it feels like it is dragging on. I am glad this is well written. I downloaded it and will read it!
